Finding the right place for a year-end office party can be challenging, and will only get more so as the holidays draw near; better to start your search early. Right now, during the back-to-work season after summer vacation, is a good time to consider your options. Here is a list of candidates for your next party.
Science Centre
Located at the King-Edward Quay in the Old Port, the rooms at the Montréal Science Centre offer a setting with a rich industrial and maritime heritage. With a total area of 24,000 square feet, six bright, contemporary-style spaces offer panoramic views of the city, the Old Port and the river. The capacities of the rooms for banquet dining are as follows: Perspective 235 °: 450; the Belvedere: 448; the Gateway: 208; the Panoramic Hall 216; the President’s Lounge: 50; and Espace Bernard Lamarre: 96.

Centre Mont-Royal
The Centre Mont-Royal, a large conference building located on Mansfield Street at the corner of Sherbrooke, can accommodate group dinners. Three lounges: Cartier, International and Mont-Royal, can be leased separately or together for the perfect level of intimacy. The maximum number of guests is 650 people in a large, unified space.

Cirque Éloize
Cirque Éloize studios and function rooms are located in Dalhousie Station, a historic building in the heart of Old Montreal. The Chapiteau Room, which features a large, stone wall, has contemporary, comfortable decor. It can accommodate up to 350 people for a cocktail, or 250 guests for banquet dining. The Dance Room, located on the 3rd floor of the studio, offers room for 80 people, standing, or 60 banquet diners. The sleek lobby has large windows and can be decorated for events.

Entrepôts Dominion
Located near the Atwater Market, the Entrepôts Dominion building features an outstanding architectural design by Luc Laporte and René Desjardins, and was awarded a special jury prize from Créativité Montréal in 2007. When its large and small rooms are combined, this space can host a banquet for 250 people.

Escondite Drummond
Mexican restaurant Escondite, located downtown on Drummond Street, has just opened a new private room for group events. Located on the second floor, the room can host a meal for up to 50 guests. The decor of the space follows the Escondite motif, with contemporary-style decorative art, neon lights and an eclectic arrangement of retro furniture.

Espace Canal / L’Ambroisie
Espace Canal is a former industrial site with undeniable charm. The on-site kitchen of Ambroisie restaurant offers great menu flexibility and, as a bonus, access to a large selection of privately imported wines. Other amenities include a furnished dining room, integrated DJ equipment, 500 parking spaces and wheelchair access. The maximum capacity of the Espace Canal is 275 people, seated.

Espace Gare Viger
Originally called Château Viger, this heritage site was built in 1898 by Canadian Pacific as Montreal’s first luxury rail hotel. Espace Gare Viger is the last remaining site with three intact train stations: an elegant fusion of industrial design and urban refinement. The maximum capacity for banquet dining is 425 people.

Grand Quay
The Grand Quay at the Old Port of Montreal offers brightly illuminated spaces with magnificent views of the river and the city. The capacities of the main areas: T1 - Cruise terminal - large hall: up to 1,800 banquet guests; Port Centre: 150 people in a cocktail setup.

La TOHU, circus arts headquarters in Montreal, offers several spaces for events. The circular auditorium can host a banquet for 650 people; their large Hall has a capacity of 600 people. The site is easily accessible by car and includes parking for 300 vehicles.

Le Parquet
Located in the heart of the city, inside the Centre CDP Capital in the International District, the Parquet is a grand, modern space with stylish design, and is easy to reach from all points of the city. The space has a capacity of 420 people for banquet dining, or 800 for cocktail parties.

Le Rizz
Located in the north-east end of the city, in Saint-Léonard, Le Rizz offers three rooms with flexible configurations, for capacities ranging from 100 to 1000 people in banquet formula. Free parking can accommodate up to 400 cars.

Maison Principal
Maison Principal, a new upscale site for private events located in Saint-Henri, is housed in a former church with grandiose, historic architecture. The site has two rooms: one which can accommodate banquets for 350 people, while the second can host cocktails for 400.

Bonsecours Market
The Bonsecours Market in the Old Port is a heritage building that lends incomparable historical depth any event. Five rooms have capacities ranging from 100 to 975 people. The largest, the Ballroom has a maximum capacity of 540 people in banquet form. The Old Montreal and Ville Marie rooms are suitable for intimate gatherings. Ample indoor parking is available within 100 m of the building.

Pointe-à-Callière Museum
One of the richest historic sites in North America and an architectural marvel. The museum offers eleven spaces of varying sizes for holding events. The largest of these, the Hydro-Québec Multimedia Room, can accommodate 138 people, seated.

New City Gas
New City Gas, located in Griffintown, is an established venue for concerts, parties and raves, as well as a multifunctional space for corporate events. The main hall, which can host banquets of up to 630 people, features a cathedral ceiling, a parterre, two mezzanines on the sides, an elevated section, and three bars. The Multifunctional Room, which seats 130 people, has a central bar, a raised mezzanine section with couches, and a small stage.

Olympia Palazzo
The building of the St-Ephrem Syriac Catholic Church in Laval houses an event room, Olympia Palazzo. It is equipped with modern facilities to accommodate 400 people in banquet form.

Palais des congrès de Montréal
With 113 rooms and spaces, there is plenty of choice here for organizing a party. Located in the heart of the city, easily accessible by car or public transportation, the Palais offers an unparalleled choice of multipurpose, modern rooms. It is home to one of the largest ballroom halls in Canada, which can cater to 3,240 banquet guests.

Olympic Park
Among the many rooms of the Olympic Park, Salon 76, located in the main part of the stadium, has a stage, a bar and a buffet area, with a capacity of 137 people. The Tourist Hall and Mezzanine, large spaces at the foot of the Olympic Tower, can accommodate up to 550 people for a banquet. At the top of the tower, on the 2nd of 3 floors, there is the Cocktail Room with a capacity of 150 in banquet format. The Montreal Salon includes two bars, a kitchen and a dance floor. Its capacity is also 150 in banquet formula.

The Planetarium offers a wide range of spaces that are suitable for a Christmas party: a lobby, a food court, and entertainment rooms and two theatres, with capacities from 60 to 120 people in a banquet, and up to 350 in cocktail formula.

Salon 1861
Located in the heart of Little Burgundy, Salon 1861 occupies the interior of the old Saint-Joseph church with a restaurant and an entrepreneurial coworking space. The Salon can accommodate events of different sizes, with a maximum of 1,200 people standing, or 500 seated.
